Mark Brandon Hired as Nucor Manager of Technical Business Development

Nucor Corp. announced the hiring of Mark M. Brandon to the position of Manager of Technical Business Development, effective October 11, 2004.

"We are very excited to have Mark joining the Nucor family," said Dan DiMicco, Nucor's Vice Chairman, President and CEO. "Nucor is actively pursuing an international strategy to develop relationships to leverage our technology and know-how to market innovative steelmaking technologies, and Mark will be an important component of this strategy."

Brandon was formerly Chairman and President of Danieli Corp. and has extensive experience in the engineering of large equipment.

"With Mark's experience and international contacts, he will be working with the Castrip(R) team to implement Nucor's domestic and global strategy to form joint venture partnerships for the Castrip technology. He will also be working to achieve similar results with other developing technologies with which Nucor is actively involved," said Joe Rutkowski, Executive Vice President of Nucor.


Nucor is the largest steel producer in the United States and is the nation's largest recycler. Nucor and affiliates manufacture steel products, with operating facilities in fourteen states. Products include carbon and alloy steel bars, beams, sheet and plate; steel joists and joist girders; steel deck; cold finished steel; steel fasteners; metal building systems; and light gauge steel framing.
