According to Danieli, the project goal is to optimize the rolling process and widen the Marcegaglia Palini & Bertoli product mix. To that end, Danieli will install a new automation system, control pulpit and 6,500-kN hydraulic dividing shear.

The new Danieli Automation system will consist of a HiPAC control system for the two existing mill stands and new shear, and a centralized pulpit that will allow the whole plant to be operated from a single location.

The shear will be installed in the summer of 2025 along with pinch rolls, hold-down devices, knife angle adjustment, knife changing devices and automation.
