Macsteel Service Centers USA Adds New Facility in Florida

Macsteel Service Centers USA is expanding its business operations in the Southeast with the opening of a new 60,000-square-foot distribution center in Lakeland, Fla.

The new Lakeland facility will service the state of Florida, stocking a full range of ERW pipe in Grades A, B and seamless.  Future plans call for the product line to include flat rolled products.

The company has named Clint Bitzer as the new facility’s Warehouse Supervisor. Don Whalen, Sales Manager, Pipe Products for Macsteel’s Southeast Division, will manage sales in the Florida territory.  In addition to Bitzer and Whalen, Macsteel has hired three employees to initially staff the Lakeland distribution center.

"We are excited about this expansion and believe that it will strongly enhance Macsteel's product and service offering in the Southeast U.S.," said Rich O'Toole, President of Eastern North American. "The location is ideal as it is close to Tampa, the ports and will allow us to capably service the major cities in the Florida market, with a full offering of pipe and flat rolled products."

The Lakeland, Fla., facility will operate as part of Macsteel's Southeast Division under the leadership of Robert Cromley, Division President.

Macsteel Service Centers USA, one of the top companies in the North American metals service center industry, has a network of 30 locations, which includes the former Edgcomb Metals, Regal Steel Company, Baldwin Steel, Ferro Union, Hokin Katz and Alpha Steel, all of which now operate as Macsteel Service Centers USA.
