Longtime U. S. Steel Manager to Lead Great Lakes Works
03/21/2019 - United States Steel Corporation has named a 24-year company veteran to lead its Great Lakes Works in Michigan.
In a statement, U. S. Steel said Daniel “Dan” R. Brown will take on his new duties 1 April. He will be responsible for the integrated mill’s day-to-day operations as well as for the Midwest Plant located in Portage, Ind.
He currently serves as plant manager of primary operations at the Gary Works.
Brown joined U. S. Steel in July 1994 as a management associate at the Mon Valley Works cold mill. From there, he worked his way up the ranks in primary operations and rolling at several facilities, including some in Europe.
He graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in business logistics and earned an MBA from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1998.
