Oct. 23, 2006 — The AEIF-IAM (Armco Employees Independent Federation – International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) reported that locked out members of AEIF-IAM Local 1943 in Middletown, Ohio, voted on Wednesday, Oct. 18, to reject a revised contract from AK Steel.

The new contract was voted on, and rejected, two weeks after an earlier proposal was also rejected.

The Union and AK Steel had scheduled to resume talks on Thursday morning, October 19, 2006.
