In an announcement Thursday, the company said the investments will position it well as it enters its seventh decade in the Baton Rouge area.

“These investments are a further commitment by the company to make the highest quality steel line pipe in the nation at the lowest cost and in the safest work environment in the industry,” said Chip McAlpin, vice president of corporate strategy and development.

The project is being supported by an economic incentive package from the state of Louisiana.
