LIBERTY Steel Georgetown to Restart Production Next Month

In its latest restructuring update, GFG Alliance said that it will resume operations at the LIBERTY Georgetown facility in mid-January 2022. The plant had been idled since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and planned maintenance. According to the press release, the “substantial restart” has been made possible thanks to improved market conditions brought on by tariffs and increased infrastructure spending.

In additional news, GFG said that it has received the necessary legal and creditor approvals to restart its LIBERTY Liège operations in Belgium.
