Leeco Steel Preparing To Open New Midwest Distribution Center
08/28/2015 - Plate distributor Leeco Steel LLC expects to open a new center in South Dakota, USA, in October, according to the Sioux Falls Business Journal.
The newspaper reported that the new 58,000-square-foot distribution center can house more than 20,000 tons of plate and has railroad access.
“This facility in eastern South Dakota places our steel closer to where it needs to be and, therefore, eases the pressure on freight and allows us to get product to the end user faster. We continually look for ways to best serve our customers, and establishing a stronger Midwest presence was the obvious decision to fulfill that mission,” president and CEO Denton Nordhues told the newspaper.
Leeco is based in Illinois and is a subsidiary of O'Neal Industries Inc. It distributes carbon and alloy plate and provides cutting and finishing services.
