Leeco Steel Names Vice President of Purchasing

Murphy started his career at Leeco Steel as a sales representative. He moved to the purchasing department in 2002 and was named director of purchasing in 2007.  Overall, Murphy has more than 17 years of industry experience and his background includes sales, purchasing, project management, leadership, and analysis of supply chain and stock. Before joining Leeco Steel, he worked in sales for both Namasco and Olympic Steel. He received his Associates Degree in AutoCAD from Hamilton Technical College, Davenport, Iowa, and is a member of the steel trade organization Association of Women in the Metal Industries.
 
“During his tenure at Leeco Steel, Ryan has been instrumental in developing processes and procedures that improved efficiencies in areas of purchasing, pricing, inventory management and quality,” said Denton Nordhues, president and CEO of Leeco Steel.   “His work ethic, industry knowledge and extensive experience has earned him the respect of Leeco Steel staff and suppliers alike. We are very excited to announce this well-deserved promotion.”
 
Murphy’s appointment was effective immediately and he will be based out of Leeco Steel’s corporate headquarters in Lisle, Ill.
