Latrobe Specialty Steel Announces Price Increase

Latrobe Specialty Steel has announced it will raise prices by an average of 5% on all air-melt grades, including tool steel and high speed steel.

“This increase will help offset rising manufacturing costs as well as expand our ability to service our customers through improved capabilities within our distribution division,” said Mark Weberding, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Latrobe Specialty Steel.

The company made the price increase immediate on all new inquiries and with all new orders received beginning October 5, 2010. The company noted that raw material surcharges would remain in effect.

Latrobe Specialty Steel has been in continuous operation in the same location since 1913. The company employs approximately 800 people and has been an essential supplier to the aerospace and defense sectors for over 50 years.
