Largest AUMUND Conveyor for Hot Sinter Material Goes to Japan
04/23/2015 - With the order for delivery of the largest pan conveyor for the transport of hot sintering material to Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal, the Division Metallurgy of AUMUND Fördertechnik GmbH at Rheinberg/ Germany won an outstanding reference project in Japan.
Currently, Nippon Steel & Sumitomo is rebuilding the existing sintering plant and integrates at the end of the plant a high-performance system for conveying sintering material at a temperature of 600 °C with a capacity of 1,480 t/h - about three times the standard capacity of European plants. Delivery has been planned for the end of 2015.
The Division Metallurgy of AUMUND Fördertechnik has reference installations for the transport of sintering material all over the world. Though they do not reach the dimension of the project in Japan, they have been operative for up to ten years already.
For the sintering plant of Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal, the specialists from AUMUND developed a conveying system type KZB-S 3000 with a pan width of 3 metres. For this special use case the deep drawn pan conveyor was developed with very wide pans and special reinforcements for protection against wear caused by the extremely abrasive sinter material. Usually, AUMUND installs the deep drawn pan conveyor in cement plants. However, due to its robust construction, it has proved its worth with other industries, especially in the Iron & Steel Industry.
The AUMUND Group is active worldwide. The conveying and storage specialists have special expertise at their disposal when dealing with bulk materials. With their high degree of individuality, both its technically sophisticated as well as innovative products have contributed to the AUMUND Group today being a market leader in many areas of conveying and storage technology. The manufacturing companies AUMUND Fördertechnik GmbH (Rheinberg, Germany), SCHADE Lagertechnik GmbH (Gelsenkirchen, Germany), SAMSON Materials Handling Ltd. (Ely, England), as well as AUMUND Logistic GmbH (Rheinberg, Germany) are consolidated under the umbrella of the AUMUND Group. In conjunction with the headquarters of the manufacturing companies, the global conveying and storage technology business is spearheaded through a total of eight locations in Asia, Europe, North and South America.
