Konecranes PLC’s President and CEO Pekka Lundmark to Leave the Company
04/02/2015 - President and CEO Pekka Lundmark has decided to leave Konecranes to pursue his career outside the company. The Board of Directors of Konecranes Plc will immediately start the search of a new President and CEO.
Mr. Lundmark will leave the company in early September 2015 after the release of the January-June interim report and thereto related activities are completed. Until then, Mr. Lundmark continues as the President and CEO.
Stig Gustavson, Chairman of the Board of Konecranes Plc, comments: “We were naturally saddened on learning about Pekka Lundmark´s new career moves and his decision to leave us. Lundmark will leave our Group in early September this year. We also want to express our understanding for Lundmark´s wish for new challenges. Lundmark has led our Group through both calm and stormy waters, with great success. Lundmark´s 10 years at the helm of Konecranes will be a brightly shining part of his CV. We have a totally competent team of top managers, fully committed to pursuing all Group strategies.”
Pekka Lundmark, President and CEO, comments: “Leaving Konecranes was not an easy decision since I truly love this company. I believe we are well positioned to take advantage of the world megatrends such as digitalization and resource scarcity. We also have a very capable management team and personnel that can execute on our strategy.
However, 10 years is a long time for a CEO and for this reason I feel this is a good time to move on with my career.”
