According to KOCKS, the reducing and sizing block will be the centerpiece of the Xingtai Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. facility, which is being equipped to annually produce 900,000 metric tons of SBQ. It will make bar in coil, with diameters ranging from 16 mm to 52 mm.
 
In addition to the rolling equipment, KOCKS will supply remote controls for stand and guide adjustments, roll shop equipment, and KOCKS software solutions. Commissioning is to take place in late 2024. 

Elsewhere in China, a newly installed KOCKS sizing block has been put into service at another special bar quality mill. The unit at the Yantai Walsin Stainless Steel Co. Ltd. in the Shandong province is being used to finish rounds in diameters of 18 mm to 100 mm, hexagons in diameters of 18 mm to 80 mm and feeders for a wire rod line. It is positioned after 20 stands in H/V arrangement. 

“The advanced block enables a new level of efficient production at Walsin Yantai,” KOCKS said. 

In addition to the rolling equipment, KOCKS outfitted the roll shop and supplied proprietary software.
