Koch Knight Acquiring DURO Line of Chemical-Resistant Bricks

“The DURO product line represents an expansion of products that we can provide to the corrosion resistant market and expands our customer base in a variety of industries, including global installers,” said Matthew Thayer, vice president of Koch Knight.

“Combined with Koch Knight’s capabilities and market presence, we felt this was an excellent fit and look forward to offering these products to our new and existing customers.”

The DURO products are a line of acid- and chemical-resistant ceramic bricks that have uses in pickling and plating tanks, wastewater treatment pits and gas scrubbers, among other applications. DURO bricks have been in the Pittsburgh, Pa., area for 80 years, but Koch said it intends to move production to its plant in East Canton, Ohio.

Fuzion, however, will continue to offer a variety of refractories.

Koch Knight sells products and services to businesses that run corrosive-chemical processing equipment and high-temperature volatile organic compound abatement systems. It is a part of Koch Chemical Technology Group LLC, a diverse group of companies that serve the refining, chemical, municipal, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, food and dairy, automotive and utility sectors.
