Kobe Steel Looks to Cut Carbon Emissions
05/13/2021 - Kobe Steel Ltd. has become the latest steelmaker to publicly announce an emissions reduction goal, saying it will look to reduce CO2 output by 30% to 40% by 2030 from 2013 levels, reports the Reuters news service.
According to Reuters, Kobe plans to achieve the goal by using direct reduced iron produced through its Midrex process in its blast furnaces.
