Kloeckner Metals Announces Leadership Changes
09/08/2017 - Kloeckner Metals Corp. is reorganizing its C-suite as longtime chief executive Bill Partalis prepares to retire at the end of this year.
In an announcement, the steel distributor said it has named John Ganem as the incoming chief executive officer and Bart Clifford as chief operating officer. Both executives will start their new roles on 1 January 2018.
Chief financial officer Kirk Johnson will remain in his role.
Ganem is the executive vice president for corporate purchasing, a position he held through Kloeckner's acquisition of Macsteel Service Centers USA in 2011. He began his career at LTV Steel in 1991 as an automotive account manager and joined Macsteel International Corp. as vice president of flat products trading in 1996.
He is a graduate of Brown University and holds degrees in business economics and organizational behavior and management.
Clifford is president of Kloeckner Metals’ heavy carbon division. He has more than 28 years of experience in the metals industry and began his sales and marketing career with Ryerson Steel.
Clifford graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in speech communication.
"John Ganem, Bart Clifford and Kirk Johnson have the knowledge, drive and support to continue to transform Kloeckner Metals into a highly efficient business model by reorganization of the management reporting structure and utilizing digital tools to create a 'One U.S.' culture," Partalis said in a statement.
"They are all passionate about our mission and team, and are committed to helping our customers succeed with a growing stable of products and services," he said.
