Kenwal Steel to Build New Service Center in Tennessee

Aug. 23, 2006 — Kenwal Steel has announced plans to construct a new state-of-the-art service center to serve a growing customer base in the South.

The new facility will include two new coil slitting systems for both light and heavy gauge material up to 72-inch wide with an automated banding line to accommodate specific customers' packaging needs. Inbound rail service will be provided by the Nashville Eastern RR.

Kenwal says the new 100,000-square-foot Lebanon, Tenn., facility represents the company's gateway to the South. "The need to be closer to our customers has never been greater, and this investment responds to that call," said Kenwal Steel Chairman and CEO Kenneth Eisenberg. "Genuine interest in growing new business and helping to provide excellent manufacturing jobs for Tennesseans allowed Kenwal's vision for continuing its tradition of service excellence and innovation to become a reality."

The service center will be located at the former Cherry Farm Property site off Highway 109, just 22 miles from Downtown Nashville. Groundbreaking is expected in late September with facility launch in June 2007.
