Kanto Steel Confirms Savings from New EFSOP® Holistic Optimization System from Tenova Goodfellow

The EFSOP system was installed at the No. 1 top-charged 90-t EAF at the Kanto steel plant located at Tsuchiura-city, Ibaraki, Japan.
 
Consumption savings attained during the project lifecycle were electrical 0.5%, oxygen 8%, kerosene 20% and with an increase in yield of 0.5%.  Total overall consumption savings reached were a little more than 190JPY/t.
 
Kanto Steel has the third EFSOP system currently operational in Japan and the fourth order within the last 24 months with proven results that are characteristic of recurring savings to Japanese steelmakers in the area of overall consumption savings.
