JSW Taps Danieli for High-Productivity Straightening Lines
04/05/2022 - The equipment supplier announced yesterday it had received an order for two straightening lines for the conditioning of rolled steel bars at JSW Steel’s Salem Works in India.
According to Danieli, the investment will allow for a savings in energy consumption of up to 15%.
The new lines will be capable of conditioning a range of diameters, reaching straightening speeds up to 120 m/minute.
Danieli said the new design of the straightening rollers and the “wide, variable working angle cover a large field of bar diameters and material yield tensile characteristics to be treated, in terms of size and straightening tolerances.”
Precise head and tail bar straightness can also be guaranteed, and cracks are prevented by a hydraulic protection system and adjustable straightening force on the lower roller.
