JSW Steel Subsidiary Receives Environmental Clearance for Greenfield Mill
04/12/2022 - JSW Utkal Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Steel, has received environmental clearance for the construction of a 13.2-million-metric-ton-capacity greenfield integrated steel plant in Odisha, India, the Business Standard reports.
The project is expected to generate massive employment opportunities in the region, according to the Business Standard. It is expected to come with a price tag of approximately Rs 65,000 crore.
The Business Standard said the project is one of the largest in the manufacturing sector in India and that the Union Ministry of Environment & Forest and Climate Change awarded the environmental clearance after successful public hearings.
