JSW Steel Reports Growth in April Crude Steel Production

JSW Steel Ltd. reported monthly crude steel production of 715,000 tonnes for April 2012, a 35% increase compared to the corresponding month in the last fiscal year and 10% sequentially.
 
The company also reported the production of 525,000 tonnes of flat rolled products in April, a 34% increase over flat rolled production for April 2011, as well as the production of 155,000 tonnes of long rolled products, a 35% increase over long rolled production a year ago.
 
The capacity utilization at Vijayanagar works remained at around 80% in April 2012 due to inferior quality and inadequate availability of iron ore in E-auction, according to JSW.
