JSW Steel Accepts Sublance-Based Process Control Systems from Danieli Corus
11/11/2014 - On 5 October 2014, the performance acceptance tests for four sublance systems and static and dynamic process model/level 2 systems supplied by Danieli Corus and installed at the No. 2 BOF steel plant operated by JSW Steel in Toranagallu, India, were successfully completed.
The performance acceptance certificates were then issued by JSW. These tests are a final follow-up for the hot commissioning that took place earlier this year and complete the first successful implementation of sublance-based BOF process control in India, where automatic steelmaking with the converter operating in full computer mode was previously met with reservations. The excellent results achieved by the operators in Toranagallu have demonstrated the value of the system and the willingness of JSW Steel to pioneer this technology in India will pave the way towards continued growth in this vast industry.
