JSW Posts 54% Growth in Q2 Crude Steel Production
10/08/2009 - JSW Steel has posted 54% growth in crude steel production during Q2 FY 2010, achieving its highest-ever quarterly production at 1.539 million tonnes.
JSW Steel Ltd. has posted 54% growth in crude steel production during Q2 FY 2009-10, achieving its highest-ever quarterly production at 1.539 million tonnes (vs. 1.001 million tonnes in Q2 FY 2008-09).
Rolled long products were up 216%: 217,000 tonnes compared to 68,000 tonnes. Rolled flat products showed growth of 28%, with 923,000 tonnes in Q2 FY 2010 vs. 723,000 tonnes in Q2 FY 2009.
The company also registered quarterly sequential growth of 12% in crude steel production, 6% in rolled flat products, and 20% in rolled long products.
JSW’s crude steel production for the half year ended Sept. 30 was 2.916 million tonnes, showing growth of 48% over the corresponding period last year.
