JSW Fires Up New Reheat Furnace
01/22/2021 - JSW Steel’s Toranagallu plant in India has successfully started up a new walking beam reheat furnace, reports project contractor Danieli Centro Combustion India.
According to Danieli, the new furnace, which is tied to the plant’s No. 2 wire rod mill, is capable of processing 220 metric tons per hour.
“Most of the commissioning was executed (remotely),” Danieli said.
“A very limited presence of Danieli experts for the last few days of hot commissioning was enough to complete tuning of the system and to achieve the first hot billet. Strong cooperation by JSW and Danieli teams contributed significantly to the timely project execution.”
