According to the news agency, the steelmaker saw its March crude steel production reach nearly a half-million tons as its quarterly production increased 38%.
"With the 250-metric-ton basic oxygen furnace going operational in December 2017, we are in a position to progressively harness the full capacity levels of our 3.2 MTPA blast furnace," said N.A. Ansari, chief executive of JSPL’s steel business.
The company fired up the BOF at the end of last year, completing the build-out of its new integrated plant in the state of Odisha. The plant features a blast furnace capable of producing 4 million metric tons annually.
