Jim Lang of Konecranes Training Institute Named AIST Crane Innovator of the Year
06/11/2013 - The Association for Iron & Steel Technology has given Jim Lang of Konecranes Training Institute its 2013 Crane Innovator of the Year Award.
The AIST Crane Innovator of the Year Award recognizes the individual who has brought forth the latest in technology or increased efficiencies in operational and maintenance practices for the continuous improvement of heavy industrial cranes. Coming from one of the most prestigious steel mill organizations in the industry, this award recognizes Lang’s innovative work to increase crane safety.
In his work for the Konecranes Training Institute, Lang spearheaded work on a crane accident analysis study. This examination helps increase crane accident awareness and crane safety for steel mills and factory operations. Lang also presented this study at the 20th Annual AIST Crane Symposium.
“We are very proud that Jim has received this honor,” said Bernie D’Ambrosi, VP and director, Region Americas Service at Konecranes. “The invaluable work he’s done here at Konecranes reflects our spirit of safety and innovation, and we’re proud to see him recognized for it.”
The award was given in June at the 20th Annual AIST Crane Symposium in Pittsburgh.
