JFE Steel and Rasselstein Reach Technical Cooperation Agreement

JFE Steel Corp. and Rasselstein GmbH have signed a Cooperation Agreement regarding steel used for cans and other packaging.

The two alliance partners seek to deepen their existing technical exchange with the new agreement, while also expanding their cooperation in the areas of manufacturing processes and materials development. As part of their new agreement, JFE Steel and Rasselstein will exchange leading-edge technical information and joint research, and will work to develop and apply innovative steel technologies for cans and other packaging.
 
The two companies said they also will pursue the common goal of favorably positioning steel as a competitive packaging material in the highly diversified global market for applied materials, now and into the future.

Headquartered in Andernach, Rasselstein GmbH,a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG, is Germany’s sole manufacturer of tinplate.
