Dec. 5, 2006 — The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) announced that it will uphold existing antidumping duty orders on stainless steel bar from Brazil, India, Japan and Spain.

The decision follows a recent affirmative finding by the Department of Commerce, as well as the Commission’s subsequent determination that revoking the existing orders would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time.

With respect to India and Japan, all six Commissioners voted in the affirmative. With respect to Brazil and Spain, Vice Chairman Shara L. Aranoff and Commissioners Jennifer A. Hillman, Stephen Koplan, Charlotte R. Lane voted in the affirmative; Chairman Daniel R. Pearson and Commissioner Deanna Tanner Okun voted in the negative.

The five-year (sunset) reviews concerning Stainless Steel Bar from Brazil, India, Japan, and Spain were instituted on March 1, 2006. On June 5, 2006, the Commission voted to conduct full reviews.
