ITC Finds Potential Harm with Non-Alloy Steel Pipe from China
10/04/2005 - The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) announced that it has found that certain circular welded non-alloy steel pipe from China is being imported into the United States in such increased quantities or under such conditions as to cause real or threatened market disruption to the domestic producers of like or directly competitive products.
The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) announced that it has found that certain circular welded non-alloy steel pipe from China is being imported into the United States in such increased quantities or under such conditions as to cause real or threatened market disruption to the domestic producers of like or directly competitive products.
As a result of the affirmative determination, the Commission will consider the issue of remedy. It will send its report, including its remedy proposal, to the President and the U.S. Trade Representative by October 21, 2005. The President will then make the final decision concerning whether to provide relief to the industry and the type and duration of any such relief.
Chairman Stephen Koplan and Commissioners Jennifer A. Hillman, Charlotte R. Lane, and Shara L. Aranoff voted in the affirmative. Vice Chairman Deanna Tanner Okun and Commissioner Daniel R. Pearson voted in the negative.
