Italian Steelmaker Turns to Danieli for New EAF
02/06/2025 - Italy’s Acciaierie Venete has placed an order with Danieli for a 100-metric-ton EAF at its Padova Works, Danieli has announced.
According to Danieli, the furnace will be capable of annually producing 750,000 metric tons of engineering steels. The order also includes a fume treatment plant and material handling system.
“One of the most important features of the new furnace is the Danieli-patented Digital Electromagnetic Stirring system – DEAS, which enhances the homogenization of the liquid steel temperature and chemistry to improve operational efficiency for the lowest transformation costs together with consistent reduction of CO2 emissions, qualifying for governmental funds,” Danieli said.
A brownfield project, the installation is to be carried out during a six-week outage in the summer of 2026, Danieli said.
