Installed at its Padua plant, the finishing line equipment is being used to make special quality bars ranging from 18 to 82.5 mm in diameter and squares ranging from 30 to 60 mm. 

“Covered by Danieli patents, ‘The Drawer’ allows the production of ready-to-use, hot-rolled bars with high dimensional tolerances of 1/8 DIN. Round bars can be produced with normalized rolling process as well as by thermomechanical rolling,” Danieli said in a statement. 

Danieli said The Drawer’s free-size rolling technology allows for greater production flexibility and higher yields due to improved product quality and fewer crops, cobbles and trial bars.
