Italian Mill Retains Harsco As Principal On-Site Contractor
09/09/2015 - A ThyssenKrupp stainless steel works has renewed a service contract with Harsco Metals & Minerals, Harsco has announced.
The contract renewal, worth approximately US$60 million, is for several unspecified on-site services at ThyssenKrupp’s Acciai Speciali Terni stainless works in Terni, Italy.
Harsco said the renewal is on top of three other contract renewals signed last year. Taken together, the deals mean that Harsco will continue to be the mill’s principal mill services contractor. Harsco said it has been providing on-site services at the mill for more than 20 years.
"In many ways, this award and the confidence that it demonstrates underscore the progress we continue to make in our Metals & Minerals transformation. ThyssenKrupp AS Terni is a large and important site that is clearly rebuilding for a strong future,” said Harsco President and CEO Nick Grasberger in a statement.
The mill is Italy’s only manufacturer of stainless flat products, Harsco said.
