ISG Announces Two Communications Appointments

International Steel Group Inc. announced two new appointments to the ISG Corporate Communications Department.

Charles T. Glazer has joined the company as Manager of Communications and Public Relations, effective September 1, 2004. In his new position, Glazer will be responsible for all ISG corporate-wide communications and public relations, including media relations, internal and external communications, crisis communications, and community and government relations. In this role, he also will support all financial communications, executive presentations and image marketing. Glazer’s office will be located at ISG’s corporate headquarters in Richfield, Ohio.

ISG also announced the appointment of Jolice A. Pojeta to Regional Communications Manager for the company’s Western Division, also effective September 1, 2004. In her new position, Pojeta will be responsible for all employee communications, media and community relations for ISG facilities located in Burns Harbor and East Chicago, Ind., and Hennepin and Riverdale, Ill. She will have offices at both the ISG Burns Harbor and Indiana Harbor locations.

Before joining ISG, Charles Glazer was an account supervisor with William J. Green & Associates, a public relations agency in Pittsburgh, Pa., where he managed and implemented strategic communications, public relations, government affairs and marketing programs for key clients. He served as Corporate Communications Manager for Kennametal Inc., Latrobe, Pa., from 1996 to 2001. Glazer was an account supervisor with Ketchum, in Pittsburgh, Pa., from 1989 to 1996. He also has held positions in radio and television, including talent, sales and management and positions in trade association communications and management.

Glazer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Penn State University. He has served as the Past President of the Penn State College of Communications, Alumni Society Board and Board of Directors and Chairman of the Marketing Committee for Housing Opportunities, Inc.

Jolice Pojeta reported most recently to the Vice President and General Manager of ISG Indiana Harbor Inc. She began her steel career with the former LTV Steel Co. in 1986, where she served as Manager—Public Relations for LTV’s facilities at Indiana Harbor, Hennepin, Chicago Coke Plant and Tin Mill Products Division until the company closed in 2001. From 1980 to 1986, she was employed by Anderson Newspapers Inc. in Anderson, Ind., where she was a Features Editor and News Reporter for the Anderson Herald.

Pojeta earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and political science from Ball State University, Muncie, Ind. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana and is a member of the Chicago Chapter of the Association of Women in the Metals Industry.
