March 20, 2006 — Inductotherm Corp., N.J., has been awarded a contract to supply an induction powered coating pot for Wheatland Tube’s Little Rock, Ark., facility.
The pot, which will be installed on Wheatland’s continuous tube galvanizing line, will replace the existing gas-fired pot. It will be used to melt zinc ingots and keep the metal molten during the galvanizing operation. The pot will be operating at temperatures ranging from 830° to 845°F.
In addition to the coating pot, inductor and power supply, Inductotherm will also supply the required refractories, including installation and sintering of the new lining.
Commissioning of the new equipment is scheduled for September of 2006.
