India’s Supreme Court Clears Essar Acquisition
11/15/2019 - ArcelorMittal expects to soon plant a flag in India after the country’s Supreme Court paved the way for it complete its planned acquisition of Essar Steel India Ltd.
“We are very pleased with the judgement that our resolution plan has been approved. We look forward to the closing of the acquisition soon,” a company spokesperson told The Hindu newspaper.
The acquisition has been held up for more than two years due to a legal battle.
