India’s Steel Ministry Considering Proposals for Green Hydrogen R&D

According to Argus Media, under India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, 4.55 billion rupees (US$55 million) has been set aside for the steel sector. The funding could be put toward projects involving hydrogen-based direct reduced iron (DRI), the use of hydrogen-reduced iron in electric arc furnaces (EAF), and the modification of existing blast furnaces and DRI plants to accept hydrogen, Argus said. 
 
The ministry in April also approved 13 task forces to define a green steel road map.
