Indian Steel Producer Contracts Danieli for Bar Mill Build

According to Danieli, the mills, which will be built in the Chaliyama industrial area in Jharkhand, India, will be capable of annually producing 1 million metric tons of rebar in diameters ranging from 8 mm to 40 mm.

Danieli said the order includes a 160-m-long hot-charge system that will negate the need for a reheat furnace, 12 housingless rolling stands and an eight-pass fast-finishing block, an in-line heat-treatment system, and a yard management system.

“With this investment, Rungta will become a main player in the thermomechanically treated bar market in India, operating the latest technologies for final product profitability,” Danieli said.

The mills are to enter service in the third quarter of 2024.
