Indian Mills Select Danieli Service for Caster Updates
07/19/2021 - Two Indian steel producers have contracted Danieli Service to upgrade and provide spare parts for their slab casters.
According to Danieli, its service unit will be performing a number of projects for ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India and the Steel Authority of India Ltd.’s (SAIL) Bhilai plant, providing more than 200 metric tons of new equipment.
At ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, Danieli has manufactured 190 metric tons of new equipment and worked on a mold, three segments and five bare segments.
At SAIL Bhilai, Danieli Service is supplying a replacement top zone and a replacement bender unit.
“The ordered parts, which weigh a total of 40 tons, will be subject to engineering upgrades that will reduce maintenance costs and extend lifetime,” Danieli said.
