India to Outpace U.S. Steel Consumption in 2019, Says Steel Minister

01/23/2019 - India is on track to overtake the United States in steel consumption this year, according to India Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh.

Speaking at an industry conference, Singh said that domestic manufacturing growth and increased infrastructure spending are driving the increase in steel consumption, according to the Press Trust of India news service.
