India Sees Two New Mills on the Horizon

According to the Hindu Business Line newspaper, Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh said the plant would be capable of producing 1.5 million metric tons annually.

Singh also said he expects the Steel Authority of India and ArcelorMittal will soon have a signed agreement on establishing an automotive steel plant in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.

"The plant at Kadapa, for which SAIL and Arcelor Mittal are likely to finalize the deal, is proposed to make specialized high-strength steel for the automotive sector. With India poised to become a hub for the global automotive industry, this project will be an important addition for the steel sector," he said.
