Illinois Pipemaker Adopts a New Name
07/01/2016 - Chicago-based pipe and tube maker JMC Steel Group Inc. has changed its name to Zekelman Industries Inc., the company has announced.
In a statement, the company said the decision is meant to recognize the three decades of leadership by the company's owners, the Zekelman family.
“The change of name and identity signifies my, and my family’s, commitment to our business, customers, team members and suppliers. I am proud of the work we do and honored to have my name associated with the products and services we provide,” said chief executive Barry Zekelman.
The Chicago-based company is the parent of Atlas Tube, Wheatland Tube, Sharon Tube, Picoma and Energex Tube. Each will retain its existing name, the company said.
