IAC Secures Ancillary Equipment Order From New SDI Mill
06/18/2020 - Kansas-based Industrial Accessories Co. (IAC) recently was awarded contracts to install certain ancillary components of Steel Dynamics Inc.’s new flat-rolled mill in Texas.
In a statement, IAC said one of the contracts is for independent reverse-air baghouse systems serving the mill’s two electric arc furnaces (EAFs) and its two twin-lade metallurgy furnaces (LMFs). It also includes the dust handling system linking the EAFs to the railcar load-out silo.
“Meltshop ventilation will include canopy exhaust above the EAFs and building ventilation. Capacity is 1.65 million actual cubic feet per minute per system," the company said.
Separately, the company will equip the EAFs and LMFs with an alloy additive system. The order includes incoming receiving pits and storage silos; pneumatic and mechanical conveyors; and ventilation and dust control for the silos and conveying equipment.
IAC and subsidiary Adelphi Construction are an engineering, procurement and construction contractor providing OEM air filtration and material handling products and services.
