According to SMS, the HRM 1400/1250/1100-9M straightener will replace a 22-year-old unit at the Incheon plant’s medium sections mill. It will allow the plant to roll larger sheet piles and beams, those with a web height of up to 450 mm.

“In addition to extending the product range, the straightener will also help to improve the tolerances and quality of the sections,” the company said. 

Commissioning is scheduled for the fall of 2018.
