According to SMS Concast, which was contracted for the project, the work included the installation of a new sizing section — 250 x 350 mm — and new automation equipment. 

Also, new oscillation mechanisms, mold powder feeder and electromagnetic stirrers were installed. The straightener units, deburrers and electrical equipment were upgraded as well. 

The work was completed in approximately 45 days. 

The caster annually produces approximately 1 million metric tons of blooms and beam blanks.
