Hyundai Steel Deploys New Straightener to Expand Product Range
01/28/2019 - Hyundai Steel has issued the final acceptance certificate on a new straightening machine installed at the company’s Incheon, South Korea, plant, according to the equipment supplier.
In a statement, SMS group said the straightener, part of the plant’s medium section mill, replaces an 18-year-old straightener that was installed in 1995. The new straightener will allow the plant to produce larger sheet pilings and beams with a web height of up to 450 mm.
“In addition to extending the product range, the straightener helps to improve the tolerances and quality of the sections,” SMS said, adding that it will improve process reliability.
