With an eye to expanding the global market for high tensile strength steel sheets, the pickling line and tandem cold mill installed by Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals Machinery, Inc. at the works is the world's first to adopt six stand mills from initial installation. In commercial operation since this past May, a full month earlier than the timeframe agreed upon in the contract, the mills are currently producing high-quality steel sheets for automobiles.
