Horsehead Announces Executive Appointments
07/08/2004 - Horsehead Corp. has named Bob Scherich as the company's Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and has appointed Jim Totera to the newly created position of Vice President - Sales & Marketing.
Horsehead Corp. has named Bob Scherich as the company's Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and has appointed Jim Totera to the newly created position of Vice President - Sales & Marketing.
Scherich brings extensive knowledge of finance and accounting, specifically tailored to manufacturing. Scherich most recently was CFO of Valley National Gases, Inc.
In addition to his EAF dust recycling sales duties, Totera now will manage sales and marketing company-wide. This includes zinc metal, zinc oxide, and other value-added zinc products produced by Horsehead Corp.
"These appointments further enhance the strong management team in place at Horsehead," said Jim Hensler, President & CEO. "The Horsehead team is better positioned to meet the needs of our customers and work closely with our suppliers and vendors going forward," Hensler added.
Horsehead Corp. is the largest zinc producer in the United States and the world's largest recycler of zinc bearing materials, including the steel industry's EAF dust. The company annually produces over 165,000 tons of zinc products and recycles more than 450,000 tons of EAF Dust. Horsehead, which purchased the operating assets of the former Horsehead Industries, Inc., including its Zinc Corp. of America (ZCA) and Horsehead Resource Development Co., Inc. (HRD) subsidiaries on December 23, 2003, will continue to use the associated brands. The company employs over 1,000 people in six states.
