Hollowing Out Innovation With Profile Rolling Mill
01/29/2025 - Austria’s voestalpine Tubulars has successfully commissioned and integrated a new profile rolling mill engineered by KOCKS into its hot tube rolling mill in Kindberg, Styria.
The machine will now be used to produce seamless, hot-rolled square and rectangular hollow sections in large formats and wall thickness in addition to seamless round tubes.
According to the press release, the centerpiece of the profile rolling mill, the PWW 530/4, features four consecutive 530-mm stands, each with two individually driven horizontal and vertical rolls. This design, based on KOCKS’ 3-roll stand design, enables quick roll changes and flexible production planning.
