Hoa Phat Steel Fires Up Second Danieli Blast Furnace
02/04/2020 - Vietnam’s Hoa Phat Steel has blown in the second of four blast furnaces being built at its new Dung Quat facility.
According to Danieli Corus, the furnace was lit on 25 November 2019. The first of the four was blown in in June, and the remaining units are to be commissioned this year. The furnaces are being built under a single contract signed in 2017 and together will give the company 4 million metric tons of new capacity.
Each furnace is designed to produce 1 million metric tons annually and has a 1,080-m³ working volume.
