Here’s How One Buyer Is Putting Green Steel to Work
03/17/2023 - A Pennsylvania producer of limestone, sand asphalt and aggregates has become the first North American buyer of a construction vehicle made from fossil-fuel-free steel, according to an announcement from Volvo Construction Equipment.
According to the manufacturer, Pennsy Supply Inc. has taken possession of an articulated hauler built from SSAB fossil-fuel-free steel.
“No business can solve the complex challenges such as climate change alone. We need to actively partner with key players throughout our value chain to innovate and create new business solutions. Volvo and SSAB have converted emerging technology in the steel industry into a working model of what the future will look like,” said Scott Parson, president of Americas materials for Pennsy Supply parent CRH.
